Located just north of downtown Durham near Northgate Mall, Old North Durham is one of the city's most historic and charming neighborhoods. Settled in the late 1800s as a suburb of Durham, the neighborhood is known for its historic homes, tree-lined streets, and proximity to downtown. Old North Durham was originally farmland until the late 1800s when it began to be developed into a streetcar suburb.
