A Brief History of Sheldon Place

Sheldon Place sits on land that was once part of the historic Sheldon family farm, owned by the Sheldons since the early 1900s.

As Garner expanded rapidly in the 1990s and 2000s, the Sheldon family began selling off parcels of their farmland to developers.

National homebuilder DR Horton purchased a section of the former Sheldon farm in the mid-2000s to develop Sheldon Place.

Construction on the first homes began in 2006, with completion around 2007. Home styles range from cozy cottages to spacious two-story Colonials on generous lots.
