Most custom projects pass through three hands: the architect who draws it, the builder who prices and builds it, and the landscape designer who finishes the site. Arrowhead keeps all three in one firm.
Arrowhead Designs, an architecture and landscape design firm, works alongside Arrowhead Building Company to deliver modern homes and additions in raleigh. The public record on its residential building work is limited, though. The website does not list completed new homes, prices or a warranty, and its design page still shows “2022 Upcoming Work.” This page covers what is published and what to confirm.
Who Is Arrowhead Building Company?
Arrowhead describes itself as “Designers + Builders.” Its website says Arrowhead Designs and Arrowhead Building Co. have brought together talent in architecture, landscape architecture, building science, carpentry and project management, and it pitches a turnkey experience with “a focus on materiality, performance, and artful detailing.” Arrowhead Building Company, LLC is listed as a builder member in the 2025 Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County directory.
The team page lists four owners by first name and role: a general contractor, an architect, a landscape designer and a director of operations. It also lists site supervisors, carpenters, a cabinet maker, a shop foreman and a landscape crew. Surnames are not published.
The website gives 1021 East Whitaker Mill Road, Raleigh, and (336) 662-2346. The HBA directory lists a different address and phone number.
One naming note: Arrowhead Designs is the architecture firm and Arrowhead Building Company, LLC is the builder. The builder entity, with its own license number, is the one that should sign your construction contract.
What Does Arrowhead’s Record Show?
| Buyer question | What the public record shows |
|---|---|
| State contractor license | L.81240 (Arrowhead Building Company, LLC): Building classification, unlimited license limit, active through Dec. 31, 2026 per the NC Licensing Board for General Contractors, checked Oct. 14, 2026 |
| Services | Architecture, landscape design, design-build construction, native plant work |
| Design style | Clean modern forms with natural materials; strong indoor-outdoor connection |

The in-house mix is the strength. When the architect and the builder share a payroll, design decisions get priced as they are drawn.
What Should You Verify Before Signing With Arrowhead?
Before signing with Arrowhead, confirm the entity, the license and a recent body of new-home work. Our guides to finding a Triangle builder and why the builder’s agent works for the builder explain how to keep someone on your side.
License and entity
Look up Arrowhead Building Company, LLC with the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors. Ask which address and phone number are current, since the website and HBA directory disagree.
Completed new homes
Ask for the addresses of new homes Arrowhead has designed and built in the last three years, and talk to those owners. Additions and landscapes are a different skill from a ground-up house.
Design and build fees
Ask whether design is billed separately from construction, what happens to the drawings if you do not build with Arrowhead, and whether the build is fixed price or cost-plus.
Warranty
Ask for the written warranty and compare it with our home-builder warranty guide.
Final Thoughts About Arrowhead Building Company From Tim Clarke
Arrowhead offers something rare in Raleigh: architecture, landscape and construction from one firm, with a clear modern point of view. For an infill lot where the site and the house have to be designed together, that is a real advantage.
The website has not been updated recently, so confirm current activity and recent new homes first. I have spent 17+ years in Triangle real estate, and our team builds as well as sells. We represent you; the builder represents the builder. Call us at (919) 355-8462 before you sign.
