Who was Carolinian Homes?
Carolinian Homes, Inc. was a custom home builder based in Apex. It built custom-designed new homes across Cary, Apex, Durham and Chapel Hill. The company's North Carolina contractor license expired at the end of 2024, and the newest building permit we located is from 2014.
Public records tie two names to the company. BuildZoom lists Robert A. Powell as owner. A Triangle custom-homebuilder directory lists Alan Powell as the executive contact. They may be the same person, but the records we found do not say so, so we list both.
Carolinian Homes license and company record
Carolinian Homes held North Carolina residential contractor license 45533. As of October 2026 the license shows as inactive and cancelled; it was last verified as expired on December 28, 2024 (BuildZoom record). Older sources disagree on the year the company started, so we do not state one.
Where Carolinian Homes built
The Triangle custom-homebuilder directory named three major communities for Carolinian Homes:
