Weycroft at a Glance
Weycroft is one of west Cary's quietest luxury addresses — 119 custom home sites off Carpenter Fire Station Road in the 27519, minutes from NC-55 and NC-540. I'm Tim Clarke — Certified Residential Pricing Specialist, 18 years selling Raleigh-Durham real estate, 30 years living here. When a buyer wants true custom construction without committing to a build timeline, Weycroft resales are where I look first.
What the Numbers Say
- Six homes closed in the last 12 months at a median of $1.22M, ranging $1.05M–$1.3M
- Homes run 3,000–5,000 square feet on wooded, stream-buffered lots
- Inventory is scarce — typically one active listing at a time, so serious buyers need to be ready
That scarcity is structural. The community finished building out around 2010 and nobody is making more of these lots. Eleven custom builders shaped the streetscape under developer Impact Properties Group, so no two streets read the same — a texture production neighborhoods can't fake.
Life in Weycroft
Nature as the Amenity
Weycroft's draw isn't a clubhouse — it's the land. Streams, wooded buffers, and greenways thread between the home sites, and a 21-acre Town of Cary park sits directly adjacent. Residents also get access to the nearby Cameron Pond recreation center with its junior Olympic pool, cabana, and playfields.
Weekend Range
The American Tobacco Trail and Jordan Lake are both an easy drive — paddleboard mornings, trail rides, striper fishing. Old Chatham Golf Club, one of the Triangle's most exclusive courses, is close by for members.
Shopping and Daily Errands
Parkside Town Commons on O'Kelly Chapel Road handles the weekly orbit — Target, Harris Teeter, Golf Galaxy, and a full dining row. For bigger trips, The Streets at Southpoint is a straight shot up NC-540.
Schools
The Chatham County Detail
Here's the fact that surprises buyers: Weycroft carries a Cary address but sits in the Chatham County portion of 27519, so homes feed Chatham County Schools — North Chatham Elementary and Margaret B. Pollard Middle, with high-school zoning that has shifted since Seaforth High opened. Assignments here have real nuance, and my team and I confirm the current zoning on any specific address before you write an offer — never buy on an assumption.
The Commute Math
From Weycroft's center: 14 minutes to Research Triangle Park, 16 to RDU Airport, about 30 to downtown Raleigh. For a $1.2M custom home, that RTP number is the quiet headline — closer than most of north Raleigh at twice the lot size.
Buying or Selling in Weycroft
With six sales a year, pricing here is a specialist's job — one bad comp skews everything. If you own in Weycroft and want today's number, my team and I will pull the true custom-home comps, not the neighborhood average. Thinking about buying? Start with my Cary market guide or watch for Weycroft listings — when one hits, you'll want to move inside a week.
