BUILDER PROFILE

Heritage Construction

Heritage Construction is a custom builder in the Raleigh-Durham Triangle, working in Morrisville and Raleigh. It is listed in our custom and semi-custom builder directory rather than the production data set, so it holds no standing community inventory here and each build is priced from its own plan, lot and specification. The builder writes and presents that contract through its own representative; we represent the buyer instead.

Triangle towns Heritage Construction serves

Heritage Construction's onsite agents represent Heritage Construction.

Every sales consultant in a Heritage Construction model home works for Heritage Construction: the builder's contract, the builder's lender, the builder's incentives. Tim M. Clarke represents the buyer on the other side of that table. He compares Heritage Construction communities, reads the contract and warranty before you sign, and attends the walkthroughs. Most custom homes start with three separate contracts: an architect, an interior designer, and a builder. Three sets of fees. Three schedules. Three people to blame when the plans do not match the budget.

Heritage Construction in morrisville keeps the first two in-house. Its New Construction page says its own architects and designers draw a custom plan for each client, and its published process runs from the first consultation to a handover package with warranties and a maintenance plan. The firm builds custom homes, renovations and additions, and commercial projects for raleigh and the surrounding area.

What the site does not show is a price, a finished-home address, or a founding year. This guide covers what Heritage publishes and what to confirm before you sign.

Who Is Heritage Construction?

Heritage Construction is a Morrisville design-build firm at 6833 Mt. Herman Road. The company phone on its website is (919) 582-7825.

The owners the company names

The website names three owners:

  • David Myrick, President and Co-Owner;
  • Adam Nix, Co-Owner;
  • Matt Wallace, Co-Owner.

The rest of the published team is operational: senior project managers, superintendents, a sales and pre-construction manager, a service and small projects manager, and an accountant. The team page and the home page list somewhat different staff, so ask who would actually run your job.

Heritage Construction is listed as a builder member in the 2025 Home Builders Association of Raleigh-Wake County directory. The New Construction page refers to “decades of experience,” but the site does not publish a founding year.

How the company describes itself

Heritage organizes itself around three values: passionate, professional, and personal. In practice, that translates to clear communication, accountability, and service tailored to each client. Those are claims. The process page is where they become testable.

One naming note: “Heritage” appears in many Triangle company and neighborhood names, including a separate builder, Southern Heritage Residential, and the heritage community in rolesville. The firm on this page is Heritage Construction at 6833 Mt. Herman Road in Morrisville. Make sure that is the entity on your contract.

Where Does Heritage Construction Build?

Heritage says it serves “Raleigh and surrounding areas” from its Morrisville office. It does not list towns or neighborhoods for its homes. From Mt. Herman Road, cary, apex, durham, and RTP are all close, but the site does not confirm projects there. Ask for addresses in the area you are considering.

What Does Heritage Construction Build?

Heritage builds custom homes, including what it calls custom-designed estates, and runs renovation and commercial divisions alongside them.

Services New construction, renovations and additions, commercial
Design In-house architects and designers create a custom plan

Renovations and additions

The Renovations page lists kitchen and bathroom remodels, basement finishing, room additions, flooring, cabinetry, custom millwork, and exterior work including windows and siding. Much of the photo gallery shows this kind of work: marble kitchens with gold hardware, wallpapered baths, and covered patios. The gallery photos have no captions or locations.

Commercial work

Heritage also builds offices, retail space, and warehouses, and offers design-build services on commercial projects. A firm with both residential and commercial crews can bring structured project management to a house. It can also mean your home competes with larger jobs for attention. Ask how they staff residential builds.

How Does Building With Heritage Construction Work?

Heritage publishes its process in five steps:

  1. Consultation. Scope, vision, needs, budget, and timeline.
  2. Design and planning. The design team helps create detailed plans and blueprints, with guidance on materials, finishes, and architectural style.
  3. Construction. A dedicated project manager oversees each phase, keeps the timeline, and coordinates materials and labor.
  4. Quality inspections. Regular inspections during construction to catch issues early.
  5. Walkthrough and handover. A final walkthrough, last adjustments, then keys, documentation, warranties, and a maintenance plan.

That is more than most small builders publish. Ask for a sample of the handover package and the maintenance plan before you sign.

What Should You Verify Before Signing With Heritage Construction?

The process is clear on paper. The pricing, the warranty terms, and the finished new homes are not. Our guides to finding a builder in the Triangle and why the builder’s agent works for the builder cover the ground rules. The builder’s salesperson represents the builder. We represent you.

Confirm the license and the entity

Match Heritage Construction, the Mt. Herman Road address, and the license number on the contract to the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors. With a common name, this check matters more than usual.

Ask what in-house design costs

In-house architects can save time and fees. Ask whether design is a separate contract, what it costs, who owns the plans, and what happens if you decide not to build with Heritage after the design phase.

See finished new homes

Most of the gallery looks like renovation work. Ask for three new homes completed in the last few years, with owners you can call.

Get the warranty terms in writing

The process page promises warranties at handover but does not describe them. Ask for the written terms before you sign and compare them with our home-builder warranty guide.

How Does Heritage Construction Compare With Other Options?

Option Design Process published Price transparency Best fit
Heritage design-build In-house architects and designers Yes, five steps Ask for a quote Buyers who want one team from plans to keys
Builder plus your own architect Outside architect Varies Ask for a quote Buyers who already have an architect
Semi-custom builder Builder plans with changes Usually Base prices published Buyers who want a known plan
Production builder Fixed plans Yes Published Buyers who want speed and a standard process

Who Is a Strong Fit for Heritage Construction?

Heritage fits a buyer who wants the designer and the builder on the same payroll.

The strongest candidates usually:

  • want a fully custom plan without hiring an outside architect;
  • live or work around Morrisville, Cary, RTP, or west Raleigh;
  • value a named project manager and a written process;
  • may want renovation work on an existing home as well.

It is a weaker fit for buyers who want published prices, a model home to tour, or a lot in a specific new community.

Final Thoughts About Heritage Construction From Tim Clarke

Heritage Construction publishes something many custom builders do not: a real process, with a dedicated project manager and a handover package that includes a maintenance plan. In-house design is a genuine advantage when budget and plans have to agree.

The gaps are the ones that cost money. No prices, no warranty terms, and no addresses for finished new homes. Get all three before you sign.

I have spent 17+ years in Triangle real estate. Our team builds as well as sells, so we know how to read a design-build contract, check the allowances, and see where a budget is thin.
