Dogwood Ridge in Apex, North Carolina

Dogwood Ridge at a Glance

Dogwood Ridge is established Apex — 300-plus single-family homes and a hundred townhomes on semi-wooded lots off Olive Chapel Road, about a mile southwest of downtown. Built 1996–2004, it has what new construction can't buy: mature trees, settled streets, and a real range of price points. I'm Tim Clarke — Certified Residential Pricing Specialist, 18 years selling Raleigh-Durham real estate — and Dogwood Ridge is my go-to answer when buyers ask where Apex still feels like Apex.

What the Numbers Say

  • 16 homes closed in the last 12 months at a median of $553K
  • Sales ranged $334K to $901K — townhomes through large single-family, one of the widest ladders in Apex
  • Homes run roughly 1,000–4,100 square feet, so move-up buyers can trade within the neighborhood

Life in Dogwood Ridge

The Amenity Set

The HOA maintains a swimming pool, tennis courts, clubhouse, and play areas, with internal walking trails connecting the sections. The Town of Apex greenway system picks up from the neighborhood edge.

A Mile from Downtown

This is the part that sells the house: downtown Apex — the boutiques, coffee shops, and breweries along Salem Street — is about a mile away. Friday night doesn't need a car. Apex Community Park and its trail miles cover the weekend.

Shopping and Daily Errands

Beaver Creek Commons at US-64 and NC-55 carries the big-box run — Target and Lowe's anchor it, with PetSmart, Chick-fil-A, and Chili's in the mix. Between downtown and Beaver Creek, everything is inside ten minutes.

Schools

Dogwood Ridge feeds Wake County public schools, and this pocket of Apex has seen assignments shift as the town has grown. Rather than print a zoning table that goes stale, my team and I run the current WCPSS base assignment on any specific address you're considering — it takes us minutes and it's the only version worth trusting.

The Commute Math

From Dogwood Ridge: 23 minutes to Research Triangle Park, 25 to RDU Airport, about 27 to downtown Raleigh. US-64 and NC-55 both feed the highway network without touching a school-zone bottleneck.

Buying or Selling in Dogwood Ridge

A neighborhood with a $334K–$901K spread punishes lazy pricing — the townhome comps say nothing about the four-bedroom on the wooded lot. If you own here, my team and I will price your segment of the neighborhood, not its average. House-hunting in Apex? Read my Apex guide or watch Dogwood Ridge listings.
