Oakcroft at a Glance
Oakcroft is a small Robuck Homes enclave off Dunn Road and Falls of Neuse in north Raleigh's 27614 — colonial and traditional two-stories built 2005–2007, minutes from I-540's exit 14. I'm Tim Clarke — Certified Residential Pricing Specialist, 18 years selling Raleigh-Durham real estate. Oakcroft is what I call a position play: it sits beside the amenity-rich Bedford/Falls River district and borrows the whole neighborhood's infrastructure for a $350-a-year HOA.
What the Numbers Say
- Recent closings ran $695K–$779K around a median of $737K
- Homes are 2,900–3,800 square feet, four to five bedrooms — genuinely large product for the price per foot
- Built by Robuck Homes, the fourth-generation Raleigh builder working here since 1926
The Position Play
Bedford Next Door, Without Bedford Dues
Oakcroft has no pool or clubhouse of its own — deliberately. The Falls River Town Center node sits minutes away: Food Lion for the daily run, The Hop Yard's 28 rotating taps for trivia night, Westlake Ace for the weekend project. You get walk-and-bike proximity to the Bedford district's retail and greenway fabric while paying about $29 a month in dues. That arbitrage is the neighborhood's whole thesis, and it works.
Falls Lake Out the Back Door
Falls of Neuse Road runs straight to the Falls Lake Dam — canoe launch, picnic grounds, and the northern trailhead of the 27.5-mile Neuse River Greenway. Blue Jay Point County Park's 236 acres (with the Go Ape treetop course) share the ZIP code. For an outdoors household, few Raleigh addresses sit this close to this much water and trail.
Schools
Current assignments run Brassfield Elementary, Wakefield Middle, and Wakefield High — Wake County redraws periodically, so my team and I confirm the live assignment on any specific address before you write the offer.
The Commute Math
From Oakcroft: 24 minutes to RDU Airport, about 26 to downtown Raleigh, 28 to Research Triangle Park — exit 14 puts the whole 540 loop to work.
Buying or Selling in Oakcroft
Small enclaves trade thin — a couple of sales a year — so pricing leans on the surrounding corridor, and knowing which Bedford and Falls River comps genuinely translate is the skill. If you own here, my team and I will build that comp set properly. Shopping north Raleigh? Read my Raleigh guide or watch Oakcroft — listings here don't repeat often.
